Memorial Parkway Weather is the page for the Davis VantagePro 2 weather station in my back yard. The station has been in service since June 2006. Currently the data is refreshed at 5 minute intervals. The updates occur on the :03, :08, :13, :18, :23, :28, :33, :38, :43, :48, :53, and :58 minute marks of each hour. The longer term graphs are updated every half hour on the :05 and :35 minute marks. If you want to point your web-enabled cell phone to a link that will display the non-graphical data from this site (updated each 5 minutes) it is: http://www.prismglow.com/weather/weather77450.wml
The Satellite Services Division of the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) provides real time access to satellite data and products for the public and government.

The page to go to when hurricanes threaten! This is the home page of the NWS National Hurricane Center. Here will be found updates at least 4 times daily at 4:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM CDT on any active tropical storms or hurricanes. There are satellite images, projected strike area maps, discussions, hurricane preparedness information, blank tracking charts, lots of history and many other valuable links.
This is the home page of the Harris County Flood Warning System. Here will be found Harris County Flood Control District flood gages and rainfall gages for dozens of locations around Harris County, TX. There are graphical representations of the data available. Additionally, there are gage selections for TXDOT, Brazoria County, Fort Bend County, City of Houston, City of Pearland plus others.
This site uses data from the National Weather Service, National Hurricane Center, NASA and the South Florida Water Management District to name a few, to locate tropical storms and hurricanes on an interactive map and provide forecasts for them. The best feature, (IMHO) is the "spaghetti model" showing predicted storm tracks of the various tropical storms and hurricanes.
Excellent weather site with detailed interactive charts on temperature, pressure, precipitation and forecasts. There are webcams set up at local weather stations. Interactive maps allow the viewing of individual observations. Zoomable maps with isobars and radar overlays are available. A "must visit" weather site.
The MODIS Rapid Response System is in large measure designed for near real time imagery of fires. But it also is used to monitor other natural hazards. In particular its images of hurricanes is unsurpassed. Two satellites, Terra and Aqua, orbit the Earth multiple times daily imaging swaths of the ground some 2300 km wide at a time. This link leads to a calendar on which when a particular day is selected will show the exact times each satellite will be over a given location on the earth. Then with that time known, the image can be found on the page under the maps.
